About Us

Born and bred passionate readers, it was fitting that we began a bookstagram page, Split Leaf Saturdays, in the Spring of 2022. Before we knew it, we began requesting to alpha read for several authors, and over time, authors began requesting us. This only furthered our love of all the words!

 

We now call to all authors seeking editorial support as we would love to celebrate your work through fine tuning your manuscript.

Custom book covers are also available upon request.

*Please note : Unique to our services, with the listed pricing you are receiving TWO simultaneous and separate orders. Example : When you select any of our services, you will submit your manuscript and Ashleigh and AL will separately be working on your single manuscript. You will receive your manuscript back with labelled notes so you'll know who notated what. An incomparable two for one deal. We pride ourselves on our one-of-a-kind and high quality editing styles.

Developmental Package

You have an unfinished manuscript, you're stuck in a plot, you need organization, etc. If you have a finished manuscript (beginning, middle, and end) that needs editing services, please see our alpha/beta, line editing or proofreading services to assess your needs.

  • 2 Rounds, each including: 

  • A read through of incomplete manuscript

  • Notes and suggestions on structure of story as well as plot support

  • Follow up questions and discussion to help navigate

  • Does NOT include grammatical or mechanical corrections

 

$400 flat

additional rounds for $75 each

Alpha/Beta Read

​

  • First read of raw manuscript

  • Notes on structure of story, plot, believability and character development

  • Does not include grammatical, mechanical or sentence structure corrections

  • Follow up questions & discussions to help navigate included

 

$150 per 50k

 50k-100k=$300

 100k-150k=$450, etc.

Less than 15k words: Flat rate of $50

Line Editing

​

  • Grammatical, mechanical corrections

  • Sentence structure corrections

  • Plot & story development

  • Character development

  • Believability of story / Does it make sense?

  • Follow up questions & discussions to help navigate the plot included

 50k-100k=$1050

 100k-150k=$1575, etc.

 

Less than 15k words: Flat rate of $175

Proofreading

  • Final stage of editing

  • Manuscript has already been edited and plot has already been cemented

  • This is a final read through to make sure everything is smooth with a focus on any leftover grammatical and mechanical corrections

 

$300 per 50k

-50k-100k=$600

 100k-150k=$900, etc.
